Biography, Flying For the First Time

Flying For the First Time

Scared, afraid, nervous, excited I was feeling all emotions right now. I was sitting in the passenger's seat of the car looking out the window, unsure of what was to come. "Remember, take of all metal when going through security. Oh also make sure your only carrying one carry on okay." "Hey don't be so nervous everything is going to be alright you won't even feel it. Plus if you get scared you can go to sleep." I tried to focus on my sister's words but I was too overwhelmed in my own thoughts to really pay any attention. I have always been very scared of heights. Once I bent one of my favorite rings on a rollercoaster ride. I was holding so tight to the rail that my ring got bent. I took so many tries to get it off my ringer. Now thinking about being way up high in the air made me extra nervous but my love for traveling was what kept me from not forcing my sister to turn the car around. It also didn't help that I would go on my first flying experience by myself. I had made up hundreds of scenarios in my head of things that could go wrong. My legs shook more and more the closer we got to the airport. Finally, we were here. We got off the car and she guided me up until the security checkpoint. I hugged her goodbye, took a deep breath and slowly made my way through security. I found my gate and nervously sat and waited for my flight to be called. My fight was walked and I made my way through to the plane. As soon as I found my seat and sit down I momently felt like throwing up. I was probably the only passenger to be actively focused on the flight attendant's security and safety instructions and demonstrations. As the flight continues I found it harder to sleep but after a while, I was able to get more comfortable and not be so scared anymore.

I am a senior here at OU (Wow can't believe I'm saying senior time flies by so fast). I am a Health and Exercise Science major. I'll be graduating this spring, my plans so far are to take a year off and work and travel a little maybe go for masters in health promotion but I'm still not sure yet. In the future, I hope to go to grad school for physical therapy and work with either the elderly or children. I love science and learning about the human body. The way the human body works and manages to keep us alive is so amazing, learning all the mechanics of it is one of my favorite parts of my major. Therefore, some of my favorite classes have been Human Anatomy and Exercise Physiology. Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, B

Week 9 Story: Gandalia and Dhrit

When Princess Gandalia was only five months old she suffered from a terrible fever. The king and queen feared for the death of their only daughter. The fever was very strong and would not go away, after two weeks the doctors were finally able to stop it however because of the length of time her body was exposed to high temperatures it caused her to go blind.     Gandalia never let her loss of sight affect her life. When she was young she played like all other children and quickly adapted living without the ability to see. If you did not know her personally you would never know she was blind. Gandalia was homeschooled as her parents feared for her safety so she never had many outside friends except for her family and the palace workers. Her favorite hobby was to read romance novels, she would often daydream about one day finding her soulmate, falling in love and living happily ever after like all the characters in her novels. She would often pester her cousins to tell her stories a
